Just The Crumbs ("the app", "we", "us", or "our") is a recipe app that lets you save, organize, import, and share recipes. This Privacy Policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and with whom it is shared.
By using Just The Crumbs, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Just The Crumbs is operated by Riley Gray.

You can use Just The Crumbs as a guest without providing any personal details. To do this, the app signs your device in anonymously with Firebase Authentication, which generates a random, device-bound identifier (an "anonymous user ID"). This lets your recipes be securely associated with your device and is not linked to your real-world identity.
You may optionally sign in with Google to save your recipes to an account and access them across devices. If you do, we receive basic profile information from your Google account — your name, email address, and profile photo. If you first used the app as a guest and then link a Google account, your guest recipes carry over to that account.
What: The recipes you create or import, including titles, descriptions, ingredients, step-by-step instructions, source URLs, colored categories, and the date they were created or updated.
Why: This is the core of the app — it is the collection of recipes we store so you can view, edit, organize, and cook from them.
Your control: Recipes are private to your account by default. You can edit or delete any recipe you create at any time within the app.
What: A user profile associated with your account, which may contain:
Why: To identify your account, associate your recipes with you, and show an author name on any recipes or comments you choose to make public.
The app includes a "Discover" feed of public recipes. If you choose to mark a recipe as public, that recipe — along with your display name shown as the author — becomes visible to other Just The Crumbs users in the Discover feed. Recipes are private unless you explicitly make them public.
You may post comments on public recipes. Comments include the text you write and, unless you post anonymously, your display name. Comments on public recipes are visible to other users.
You may also share a recipe using a short share code and a
justthecrumbs://share/<code> link. Anyone who has that code or link can
view the shared recipe and copy it into their own collection, even if the recipe is
otherwise private. Only share codes and links with people you trust.
When you import a recipe by pasting a link (including a TikTok link), the app fetches the content at that URL so it can parse the ingredients and steps for you to review before saving. The parsing runs on your device.
If the on-device parser cannot extract a complete recipe, the app may fall back to an AI-assisted import. In that case a trimmed portion of the fetched page text is sent to Google's Gemini model (via Firebase AI Logic) to help extract the ingredients and steps. This is only used as a fallback, and the imported result is always shown to you for review before it is saved. See Section 3.5 for details on how this AI processing works.
The AI-assisted import described in Section 3.4 uses Google's Gemini generative AI model through the Firebase AI Logic SDK and the Gemini Developer API. When it runs, a trimmed portion of the fetched web page's text (up to a few thousand characters) is sent to Google for automated processing, and the model returns a suggested title, ingredients, and steps.
How Google may use this data:
Please do not paste links to pages that contain sensitive personal information you do not want processed by a third-party AI service.
Your control: AI-assisted import is a fallback that only runs when the on-device parser cannot extract a complete recipe. It can be disabled entirely in a build of the app, and the app works without it.
Accuracy: Recipe details produced by AI are generated automatically and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Every AI-assisted import is presented to you for review and editing before it is saved, and you are responsible for verifying ingredients and instructions before relying on them.
The app displays ads using Google AdMob. To serve ads, AdMob may collect and share your device's advertising ID and related device information with Google.
Why: To show advertisements that support the app.
You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device's system settings.
For information on how Google uses this data, see Google's Privacy & Terms: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Some settings and preferences (such as your theme or locale) are stored locally on your device using standard on-device storage. This data stays on your device unless it is part of the account data described above.
The app relies on the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
When you import a recipe from a link, the website you paste (for example, a recipe site or TikTok) receives a request from the app and is governed by its own privacy policy.
Your locally stored settings are removed when you uninstall the app.
Your recipes, profile, and comments remain in our backend so your account continues to work across sessions and devices. You can delete individual recipes within the app at any time. To request deletion of your account and all associated data, email us at realgamesrealfun@outlook.com and we will delete it.
Just The Crumbs is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, contact us and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict its processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at realgamesrealfun@outlook.com.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
